Magaly Santos Llaca Endowed Memorial Scholarship

The Magaly Santos Llaca Endowed Memorial Scholarship was established by Glen and Tania Waldman. The fund was created to honor Tania and her sister Ana’s late mother Magaly Santos Llaca for her years of leadership and service to her community.  Magaly was very active in the Cuban community and was always there for her friends and neighbors with an indefatigable spirit and warmth.  Her love of people and community and commitment to be a rock for others in time of need was truly admirable.  The scholarship is meant to honor a student who represents this same spirit of service. The scholarship will recognize one undergraduate sophomore or junior student in good academic standing with a $10,000 scholarship. Students chosen will show a demonstrated involvement in being civically engaged along with good academic standing as a first generation college student. Preference will be given to a student of Cuban descent.
